Install error 2329 and Errors saving downoaded files.

Increasingly I have noticed repeated errors concerning file access on Windows 7. While uninstalling a program, I will get the 2329 error halfway through, and also errors while trying to save downloaded files (I assume something to do with 0 length files), messages informing me that the file cannot be saved.

I believe that these two errors are connected, and are caused by the slow response of the OS and anti-virus software, keeping handles to files open longer than is required, leading to these errors.

 Any thoughts?

Hi Jon.101,

a.   Does this issue occur with a specific program or with all the programs?

b.   What is the exact error message that you get while trying to save the files?

Temporarily disable the Anti-virus/Security Software and check.

Note: Make sure to turn on the Security Software once done with the test.

Method 1: I would suggest you to download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility package from the link below to uninstall the programs.

Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Method 2: Also scan the Computer for error.

1. Click Start.
2. Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD->Click 'Run as Administrator'.
3. At the Command Prompt, type: chkdsk /r

When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and attempts will be made to correct them.

Note: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

Method 3: Run an online virus scan on your computer by visiting the following link:
