Autorun.dll error code [0x7E]

Trying to upgrade from vista ultimate to win 7 ultimate using an upgrade disc purchased at a local retail store. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 530.
Ran windows upgrade advisor and everything checked ok. When I try to upgrade I get the following fault:Autorun.dll could not load or is corrupt. Setup can not continue error code is [0x7E]. I ran sfc/scannow/no itegrity violations. Also ran chkdsk, no problems reported. TrekDozer could you explain how to run win 7 from within an existing win installation? I have never done that before and your help would be appreciated.
Answer
Answer
If you're booting from the DVD, try running the Windows 7 installer from within an existing Windows installation – does that work?

You can also try to check for any integrity violations:
Click Start
Type: CMD, from the results, right click CMD
Click 'Run as Administrator'
At the Command Prompt, type: sfc/scannow
This will check for any integrity violations
Restart your system when done
