Access 97 issues on Windows 7

If your computer supports hardware assisted virtualization, you could try running Access 97 using Windows XP Mode software.

You simply need to have a CPU (processor) that supports hardware based virtualization: Intel-VT or AMD-V, you need to install two files:
1. Windows6.1-KB958559-x64 or x86 depending on the architecture you are running
Restart the system, then install:
2. WindowsXPMode_en-us

Please follow these steps to enable hardware virtualization:
    - Restart the computer and enter BIOS setup.
    - Search virtualization setting in BIOS and enable the setting.
    - Save BIOS settings.
    - Power off the computer, wait for few seconds and start the computer.

1) Find a more recent version (2000, 2002 and 2007) that will run on Windows 7.
2) Converting from Access 97 (not whitout it's own problems

3) If your old Access database was running on Windows XP then you may want to try Windows 7 XP mode.
What XPM actually does is allow you to run Windows 7 and XP side by side so most older applications that don’t run on 7 can be run on XP.

Running Windows XP Mode requires:
1) Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
2) A computer capable of hardware virtualization. This means your computer has a central processing unit (CPU) with either Intel-VT or AMD-V virtualization features.
3) Virtualization features turned on in your computer’s basic input/output system (BIOS).
