I have been getting these ever since I installed MSE this time on Windows 7 and also on my older laptop with Vista.  I see it is non-critical  but I can't find out what the problem is.  I haven't found a problem when MSE is scanning or protecting my computer.

Is this serious and do I need to do anything further?  If someone can tell me how to investigate this type of info in the Event Viewer I would appreciate it.

Thanks for any help.

Joanne

Answer
Hi Joanne,

Do you have any third party anti-virus or anti-malware software installed along with MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials)?

I would not think it is serious but an error is an issue regardless of it's seriousness.

However, I'd want you follow these steps and check if they help.

Step 1:

I'd have you put your computer in a clean boot state to eliminate any third party software conflicts causing the issue to occur. I suspect the involvement of a third party software.

Note: Please follow step 7 to restart your computer as usual after the test.

Step 2:

You may also uninstall MSE and install MSE version 2 and check if the issue persists.

Note: Make sure you install the correct version for your Operating System
