Windows 10 upgrade unwanted and without my consent!
I am really annoyed. I left my computer for an short time. I was checking my emails when I left my laptop running with outlook on the screen. When I came back to it, it was mid Windows 10 upgrade!!!!! I hadn't chosen this,
and didn't want it. Now I have lost all of my documents, photo's and programs. I did not want to upgrade Windows 10 and when the pop up repeatedly came up on my laptop, which was annoying itself, I cancelled it. What right has Windows got to upgrade my laptop
when I did not want it! I was very happy with Windows 8. I've tried to use the Microsoft site to contact Microsoft and find myself in a merry go round of web pages, never getting to the page where I can contact Microsoft direct. Disgusting! This is a total
breach of my privacy.

I don't understand how it would let you loose all your documents when the free upgrade through Windows Update is designed to perform an in place upgrade from previous versions of Windows.
Did you click Start > File Explorer > Documents?

If Windows 7 or 8.1 suddenly decides to install Win10, all on its own — you still have one fallback point. The very last step in the new installation sequence involves clicking “Accept” on the EULA, the End User License Agreement. If you click “Decline,” the whole update unwinds and your system should be restored to its original Windows 7 or 8.1 state. (Note the operative term “should.”)
If you or someone you know made a mistake and clicked “Accept” on the EULA, they’re running Windows 10 now. I strongly recommend that you immediately go back to Windows 7 or 8.1 using the built-in tools. Detailed instructions in my InfoWorld feature “How to roll back your Windows 10 upgrade.”

I too am being driven mad by the unwanted, unasked for upgrade to Windows 10. It is almost impossible to stop and I have just had to unplug my computer at the wall to stop the latest invasion attempt (merely trying to switch it off didn't work) I HAVE found a telephone number (wll hidden) on the Microsoft website and did speak to someone about it. The number is 0344 800 2400.
The woman I spoke to wanted remote access to my computer and for me to put in various numbers. I decided not to do this without checking as I was unsure about what might get installed by Microsoft at the same time. My techno-guru has now advised that it is safe, so, when I hav time, I will go back to it and try again.
BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO SPEND TIME REMOVING SOMETHING FROM MY COMPUTER THAT I NEVER WANTED, NEVER ASKED FOR, NEVER CLICKED ON TO SAY INSTALL, UPGRADE OR ANYTHING ELSE. IT IS AN ABSOLUTE OUTRAGE ON MICROSOFT'S PART AND THEY SHOULD STOP IT AT ONCE.
