The .NET Framework 4.7 is not supported on this operating system.

I keep getting this notification (The .NET Framework 4.7 is not supported on this operating system.) after trying to install .NET framework 4.7. I have a brand new PC with Windows 10. The information on the internet has not been very helpful so far. Any suggestions?

Hello,

You can refer following Microsoft documentation to first determine which .NET Framework version is installed on your system:

Once you identified .NET Framework version installed on the system, you can install a newer version. For example, if you've .NET Framework version 4.6.2 installed, you can install .NET Framework version 4.7 or later but you can't install .NET Framework version 4.6 on the machine.

From above documentation, .NET Framework version 4.7 comes installed with Windows 10 Version 1703. And it can be installed on Windows 10 Version 1607, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.
