Need help finding driver causing bluescreen ( Have skydrive to load dump file )

Hi , I would not be asking people for help tho I've been having these blue screens for years now on my 2013 samsung np355v5c-a04ca notebook. I've started to follow these two guides listed bellow.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_10-update/driver-verifier-tracking-down-a-mis-behaving/f5cb4faf-556b-4b6d-95b3-c48669e4c983

I've used win 10 Driver Verifier and followed the guide above and rebooted the laptop to get a bluescreen saying

DRIVER_VERIFIED_DETECTED_VIOLATION.

BlueScreenView program is saying the blue screen is caused by VIDEO.SYS .

I have basic computer knowledge , like how to format a computer , install or uninstall programs and basic trouble shooting .

This is the first pc I have so many problems with.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi John,

Please be informed that DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION blue screen errors can be caused by a variety of hardware, firmware, driver, or software issues.

To assist you better, please answer the following questions:

  1. Are you able to boot to desktop?

  2. Did you make any hardware or software changes prior to this issue?

  3. Have you installed all Windows Updates?

If you are able to boot desktop, I suggest you to install all drivers from manufacturer website and check.

If you are not able to boot desktop or if the issue still persist, I suggest you to refer to the below link and try the troubleshooting steps explained.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/troubleshoot-blue-screen-errors

As you said “I use CCleaner and Malwarebytes on a regular basis”: Please be informed that using the Third party Applications like CCleaner and Malwarebytes would delete or modify your Registry files and thus can cause serious troubles to your Computer. I suggest you not to use such third party applications and use the Windows Defender for protecting your Computer from any malwares. Please refer to the below link to explore on turning on the Windows Defender and protecting your Computer from malwares.

all windows versions had this blue screen problem . I've done windows installs where I did not use ccleaner or malwarebytes as well .

3- windows was updated a few days ago

I have a problem where windows wants to install my drivers and I feel like this is the cause of the problem. I'm forced to run my internet as metered conection to not have windows auto update ..

I see my screen flicker to black and back really fast ( seems video driver related )

I only get blue screens when playing video games or watching videos that I have downloaded or even streamed.

I will go over the information you have provided when I have more time .

Driver verified and Related to the vrvd5.sys Windows 64-bit kernel mode device driver from Rsupport Corporation.  Yours is from 2009.  I would simply remove it

There are no stupid questions.  I have (and given) some stupid answers but we are here to help you.

First thing you can do is to search for it using Cortana.  If that does not work see if you have any software by "Rsupport" in programs and features.  If you cant find it and there is no software related to it installed I suspect it would be located in C:\windows\system 32.  If it is there and you cant remove it because it is loaded.  You can rename it from *.sys to *.bak so it cannot load.

I used the search and found it in documents , I deleted the folder and tried searching for Rsupport again and did not find anything .

I would like to ask you if deleting it was the only option I had since I did not see it in Program and Features.

I will keep using my laptop and keep you guys updated to see if I get new BSOD.

Mite I also ask if I did find and upload the mini dumps as requested ?

Thanks again for your patience.
