Sending non-picture files in new Android skype?

So i notice a clear lack of a very important feature for me...

I cant send any files besides images!

I regularly need to send pdfs and textfiles over skype and beyond the other obvious problems with the new version this just killed it for me.

Theres not even a skype icon to choose when trying to share a file.

Am imissing something?

I thought new versions was supposed to ADD functionality not remove core functionality?

Microsoft decided you no longer need this feature, although the Microsoft help pages still give outdated information about how you used to be able to do it with the old version.

Probably the best option would be to upload the files to OneDrive or another cloud service and send the link to the file via Skype.

Or change to a program that actually still has the functionality you use it for.

Change to another app.
'Send file' was probably the most important feature for me and the reason I was still using Skype since it has gone arseways in the recent years.... But now it's definitely the time to move on.

Yes its true. And yet you have about 10 icons to send animated gifs from diferente providera to a contact. This shows the direction software is taking: just for fun and playing. Most new features in this versions are annoying and irritating, like the "my Day" vídeo sharing and stupid party-like animations and effects everywhere (in the câmera for ex), and veyr useful features silently disapeared. Whatsap also removed fileshare, but now they have it again
