Skype Preview // Previews for Media & Files now available!

Available for store app in the Microsoft Store, Desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux

Version: 8.42.76.37

We are excited to announce that you are now able to preview the photos and files you want to share before sending! When you select the file or photo you want to share, they will be added to the message field first so you can give a quick look to ensure only the right files or photos are going to be sent. You'll also be able to include a quick message or description for them to be sent together!

This is currently only available on desktop, but stay tuned for updates as a similar experience is coming to mobile!

Play around with sending files and photos, and send us your feedback on your experience! Thank you for all that you do to support Skype!

Why don't you concentrate development efforts on really requested features like multiple windows support and waste them on things like this one? Just to show that some development team is in place?

Also here, no-one in business cares much about this, but indeed, all important features from the Classic version are still missing.

Is there a way to disable this feature? It's only adding yet one more step to do things. I used to be able to just drag and drop pictures into the window and now I have to confirm the sending? The first time it was there I thought I had sent the picture to my contact and it wasn't sent and was waiting there because I didn't know I had to do something else. Not very intuitive.

I agree with others, multiple windows, compact view and other features would be more useful than this...

Thank you. Btw , is the insider program limited to the Windows 10 UWP Version? Or is the old win32 version of Skype also part of the insider program? And are the two differing versions considered the same version feature wise? Having two versions for windows is so confusing.
