Office Outlook 2010 Dec. 8th updates KB2760779,KB3114409,KB2553308

Hi.... I just installed these three updates from Microsoft for Outlook 2010 and there are problems. I resolved the issues by uninstalling the (3) updates KB2760779,KB3114409 and KB25553308. Although I did uninstall KB2553308 first by itself and that did not fix any of the issues.

Problems I have seen below.

(1)...Reading pane will not stay set through restarting Outlook

(2)...Preview will not stay set through restarting Outlook

(3)...Trusted options, automatic download; cannot disable "don't download pictures automatically"

I guess, has anyone else experienced these problems?

Thanks.....Larry

Answer

KB3114409 is the one that caused the problems; I wonder why MS has not fixed it on their own?

They have; They pulled the update within a few hours and have released a new update a few days ago which fixes it;

You don't have to uninstall the previous update for it.

In a corporate environment you might need to wait until your administrator approves the update on their update server (like WSUS). Contacting your support desk may speed up this process.
