How to break the 0xC1900101-0x20017 -Failed to Install 10130 - Followed by Reboot required loop

I got the message I needed a reboot. When machine (Lenovo G550 laptop) rebooted there was blank screen...that's all. Sat there for hours. I powered off the laptop and it rebooted. Several minutes later I got the failed to install message code above. I closed the box. About an hour later I get another message that Windows needs to restart.  Same loop over and over.

Question:  How to either get build 10130 to install without the error or break the loop.  I've tried several of the Internet suggested fixes to no avail. Disconnected USB devices, Checked device drivers, all up to date. Disconnected from Internet during install.

Build 10122 installed and worked well, no errors.

It seems to be a common problem with Lenovo & Asrock chipsets.

I can send log files if needed.

This cycle is really disruptive. Hopefully the update is not being download over and over again as that could incur data charges to some folks.

Since Lenovo sold a ton of this laptop that's the potential for many unhappy customer when the big rollout starts.

I do not think that Lenovo is to be blamed. This build seems pretty messy. It cuts my CPU cores in half & does not see the CPU threads.

I'm not blaming Lenovo, I'm putting the blame squarely on Microsoft.  When build 10122 works great and a week later the next build doesn't it's pretty easy to see what's at fault.

My point is, all the Lenovo users like me are going to be unhappy when the auto-update turns their laptop into a mess. And Microsoft will get the blame.

Well, I hope that MS won't be pushing unstable builds to the general users, no matter what type of hardware is used.

Can someone from Microsoft please respond as to how to break this loop.  So far the downloading/failing cycle has used about 18% of my allotted data. And, it's an incredible waste of time as I wait for the computer to go through another cycle and fail.

I've updated all my device drivers. I've gone through the half-dozen or so tips that were supposed to fix this problem. All to no avail.

I've also discovered this problem has been around since early Windows 8 days. You'd think by now somebody would have discovered a real fix.

Again, can someone please post a way to break this cycle>

The 10130 ISO is now officially published. So download it & choose to upgrade.

Also: In another thread someone posted that switching on the No Execute Permission in Bios fixed the issue. So you might try this one too.

Tried using the iso.  Same results.

If the engineers need log files I can send them.

If they want to travel to my house in Tucson they can work on my laptop to better understand the problem.
