New Mode they should add

So a new mode I think would be great to add is a like a race trainer. Like teaches new players and maybe inexperienced players on how to drive and how to use racing lines and cornering techniques and what not. This way lap times would be improved, less collisons (perhaps) and just overall better race experience.

They've got something very similar to this on GT5's license tests. I actually found the tutorials quite useful so yeah, not a bad idea.

the best racing school that I've played is GTR2 for PC.  tests for accelerating, braking, types of corners and then linking several corners, dry and rain conditions, overtaking traffic, graduating into full lap time trials.  they run you against a ghosted instructor car and you have to be right with him to advance and unlock the next challenge. you gotta work, and you can't help but get faster.  in my case it worked anyway....

GTR2 is an older game(sells for $10) that doesn't require a spendy gaming computer.  tons of free add on cars and about any track you could imagine can be found for this game. the graphics and the driving physics are better than forza.  pretty much every forza wish thread I see on forums asks for stuff that was available years ago in PC driving sims like GTR.

I was as big a forza fanboy as anyone but after switching to PC driving for a while it's changed my opinions about how great a game forza actually is.   IMO it is a heck of a lot harder to be fast in the PC sim driving world than it is playing forza....

Ignoring the troll, but yeah al jonessen something like that should be implemented into the game, earn gold/silver/bronze medals while you know how to get the best out of a hairpin and shave seconds off your lap-time at the same time. Its a win win. Plus its a new game they gotta add something to made the game fresh and new other wise its just forza with more cars/tracks. And I always wanted weather to be factored in hopefully they do that too. Doubt any turn2 people look here so who knows what could happen?

Obviously Florida is not to bright and i bet doesnt know anything about racing...but I would also like that put into the game. I think i played GT4 or GT3 on the PS2 which had something like that in it, it was just annoying because it didnt teach you how to do it, it just sent you on the track with the junky little "informative best line" and was all "have at it, good luck."

If you want weather put in get F1, IMO its better than Forza 3

I was gonna buy F1 but im just gonna wait for F1:2011. But anyways, well I was thinking more of like something with cones or like the racing line that hey have that is green/yellow/red for acceleration. Idk its something I feel like should be put in cause the stuff in the manual isnt enough.

Yeah, I could see a GT-like license test being useful for some players.  I might do them for completion's sake, but otherwise don't need them, but I could see their value.

I see why folks were mocking you in another thread.  I presume your nonsensical posts are a norm for you.

i agree with most of whats been said apart from that rubbish from florida whatever.

i think a tutorial section coild be of relevant use for novice gamers .

and weather would be an exelent factor if you could select it . there are days when im glad it doesnt rain as im just wanting a quick easy shot round a track or two .

as for the suggestion of simply playing f1 well im sure other will agree , we dont just want to drive f1 cars . nor do i have a set up for my pc albeit i agree pc gaming has in the past been superior to consoles but i feel the tables are turning with lesser budges being given to developers  compared to console projects.

i enjoy forza  even though i used to be ps2 / gran turismo all the way but i feel the forza franchise is a bit more relistic in sofar as the licence allows damage to the cars even if its not 100%

Lets also not forget the pure newbie feature off auto braking in FM3 (personally i hated it) that allowed complete novices to atleast get round the track (like my wife)  this can also be used as a safe and cheap driver training aid with a steering wheel and full peddle set up . also saves on gas and repair bills to the car ,lol

There's just one problem with a "trainer mode" :

the kind of people that could benefit from using it will skip it.

this is fact of life for pretty much any multiplayer game

The basic problem is that learning to race properly is not much fun and takes a lot of work.

It's one of the reasons why games like this have features like a racing-line and automatic braking.

Then there's the fact that nothing you ever do can be punished in a way to discourage such behavior.

Sure you could implement realistic damage, but that doesn't stop someone from ensuring his 'friends' win by wrecking the cars of his opponents. The only thing that will work is a real (on-line) referee/moderator that can judge and punish such behavior as and when it occurs.

In short ... it is a game and it will be treated as such by the glory hounds out there.
