you need an adapter to adjust to the different wattages, also due to the different regions you wont be able to buy anything from the marketplace since your not american, your better off just getting a EU console+ account for the time being and not use your american one.

I'm willing to bet the power brick will make the switch to whatever they have there as long as you have an adapter just to plug it in. Power supplies have been universal for a long time. Just look on the bottom of the brick and check to see if it says 110/220V. If it does, you're ok.

I'm not sure about the account. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work, but Microsoft may be angry at you for region codes or something.

The console will work providing you have the relevant power adaptor.

However it is your account that may cause you the trouble. The account may be American but your IP address will show you as being in Europe, so US only features such as Netflix and Hulu Plus will be locked out even if you have subscriptions.

You also wont be able to access some videos from the Zune marketplace, such as Family Guy.

Live subscription are region free, so you can buy from anywhere.

Edit: However Microsoft points are region locked. I know you said you don't care about DLC but that is something to consider.

Oh that sucks... i miss america just because everything is cheap. Over here a game is $100 pretty insane for a video game

I did import Ghostbusters from the US though because of the delay in the UK release, so games from the USA can be region free.

A good site to check the region locking of a game is http://www.play-asia.com/ they list on a games page in what regions it can be played.

Edit: You can buy region free versions of Modern Warfare 2 http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-dw-49-en-70-3au9.html

Oh and don't confuse PAL and NTSC with region locking, they are display technologies and have very little to do with anything these days. Your equipment would have to be ancient for it not to be able to handle both signals.

So since you are bringing your US console with you, you could just import US games.
