How do I copy movies from a USB key to my Xbox360s?

Hi Can someone please tell me how to copy Movies from my usb key to the harddrive on my xbox? When I try ,I go to storage to copy the files but my xbox tells me the usb needs to be configured for xbox use .. When I do this I am then unable to use the usb key on my laptop to put movies back on it . I reformatted the the key and put some movies back on it but am back at square one . Is there no simple way of just copying movies and videos on to my  xbox harddrive?

 Thanks in advance,

  Keith

You can't copy video files or music files to the internal hard drive.

You'd be able to play off the usb, provided the files are compatible. You might have an easier time setting up the media center extender or even connecting using a PS Media server - that's what we do in my house, so it works with both consoles.

The folks above are correct with one addition- if you have CDs, you can rip those to add the music to your console's collection!
