Did we ever find out HOW exactly the infestation happen on the Sprawl? -Spoilers-

The Science team that built the artificial marker became infected.

I'm pretty sure it was unleashed by the people in power.

I remember an audio log mentioned something about the necromorphs turning into a paste when they were out of range of a marker. Then when they built another marker on the Sprawl the necromorphs that were on the Ishimura sprung back to life.

You find this audio log right when you re-enter the Ishimura in Dead Space 2.

The marker makes people go homicidal, paranoid and delusional. People start kill eachother. The marker "reanimates the dead flesh into necromorphs using a signal (much like a radio wave). The humans DNA will determine what type of necromorph they will become.

The Ishimura was docked on the Sprawl. Derp.

The previous Dead Space went into detail in various ways from comic books,movies, and prequels on how the infestation started from Aegis 7 and onto the Ishimura, but when it came to this one It feels like there was hardly an explanation.

I was expecting answers to this once the severed DLC came out however unfortunately it was just one of those situations where once again you're just dropped into the action with no explanation on how you even got there.

However I might just not be remembering something, so guys refresh my memory, was it ever made clear exactly how the sprawl got infested?

And if not do you think we will get answers like we did the prequel?
