Cha-Ching Cha-Ching Cha-Ching Cha-Ching Cha-Ching

So I don't know if you guys are aware of it or not but in Horde 2.0 there is going to be a money system that allows you to build fortifications and such which is kinda cool but the problem is, every time you or someone near you kills one of the horde you are going to see a monetary value pop up on the screen and you will hear a Cha-ching sound.

I don't know about you but an arcade-ish Cha-ching sound does not belong in Horde mode.

Apparently Epic is trying  so hard to appeal to the casual gamer that they feel the rest of us have just become stoopid and forgot how to play video games, they feel like the cha-ching sound is needed so you know you are earning money.

Anyhoo we have a  poll going on over at the Epic site and we are trying to get the sound either removed or made an option to turn off, I don't know about you but I don't want my horde 2.0 ruined by hearing Cha-ching 90 million times during a match

Thanks.

I noticed that in briefing video and was really hoping it was optional but after watching Rod answer some questions that was one of them and he said no you cant turn it off. i can see it getting really annoying after a while and its going to bug me if it stays.

The frequent cha-ching in Fallout didn't bother me, nor did other "immersion breaking" things like armor effects in Reach. In fact I came to enjoy Fallout's cha-ching as I associated it with earning experience; kind of like how alot of xbox players come to enjoy the bla-bloop sound that is made when you unlock an achievement. In essence it really isn't any different from the "LOL AT UR SKILL (gun symbol) PATRICK KERR1" popups that have always been in games and never bothered people.

Still, having an option to turn something that bothers some people never hurt anyone.

That's just it, they are not giving you an option to do so, that is what we are trying to get them to do.

I agree....I kinda missed it when I leveled up to 30 in Fallout. But if you hate it, maybe there will be a way to turn it off. It seems a little early to *** about a game that isn't even out yet.

We are actually trying to get something done about it NOW as Epic says they are in the polishing stages  of the game.

I really don't think a cartoony cha-ching sound is Epic's attempt to reach the "casual" gamer.  There's still a lot of violence.

Well then I would use the epic forums and contact the developers via twitter. I really doubt any developers use the xbox forums.
