Xbox 360 without a harddrive won't save my games

I have a friend who has a xbox without the hard drive - the guy in the shop recommended him to buy one without - can't undestand that! But that's not what's wrong...He had his xbox at service and since it came back, it just won't save any games. So if he want's to play Fall out, he have to play the hole game through before turning off the console or else he has to start all over every time. Does anybody know what could be wrong?

Yes.  He has no hard drive.  He either needs to get himself a hard drive for the console or a usb stick formatted with the xbox to save the games on.

Was it an old 'fat' console? Some models had 512 memory inbuilt and it is possible that when sent to Microsoft for repair, they simply exchanged it for a model without internal memory.

If it is a Slim 360 then they come with 4gb of internal memory.

Both cases would seem to warrant a call to Support, Call Us, to explain the problem.

Hi VoteDC

Thank you for a super answer! I think that's the problem. Cause it is a old fat model and before he sent it to service he was able to save some games on, but after nothing. So I guess your answer is right. Thanks :)

To all of you: thank you for some good answers and have a nice day!
