Where's a good place to buy blu-rays?

If we can buy games at half the price online from overseas then we should be able too with Blu-rays too, right?

Also a place to see if they're region free. Because I want to get Season 6 Futurama on BR but I read it was region locked, BUT I also heard all BR's are region free. I did have a website a while ago but can't find it now. Thanks guys.

I've been ordering all my Blu-Rays from:

www.zavvi.com

Really cheap compared to buying locally...

Yeah I checked them out. But they don't have a good selection (I like TV shows more than movies). I've only found Amazon to have Futurama S6 on BR and they don't ship to Aus.

Yeah and some of the US stuff is region coded so it can be hard to play here.  You can always get yourself a US address with a freight forwarder.

I have used these guys and they are great:

www.myus.com

They setup a US address for you at their depot so you can get companies that only ship within the US to deliver to this US address which is based in Florida.  When they recieve your goods they then contact you and arrange to forward them to you in Australia.  They use Fedex and DHL but I would recommend asking them to send via USPS airmail.  This would be a lot cheaper.  Fedex and DHL will get to Australia within a few days but it will cost a bit.  This is only really good if it is urgent.

Just checked them out, they have a pretty poor selection. I need a store like Amazon that just has everything ever.

How much does that MyUS thing cost AFR? Or don't they tell you until you need them to ship it.

You need to join up and the fees start from $10.00USD.  They then give you your own suite number at their warehouse and this becomes your permanent US address.  When your goods arrive you can then calculate an approximate feight charge based off the weight of the item.

Here is the freight calculator link for FEDEX and DHL:

myus2.myus.com/Rates.aspx

If you are not in a rush ask for USPS Air mail.  There other services are super fast with Fedex & DHL but this can get really expensive.  I would only use these services if its ultra urgent, the goods will arrive in about 3 days using these services.  USPS Air mail can take 2-3 weeks.  Just so you know there doesn't appear to be a freight calculator for USPS on the site.  I just ask them for it when I get goods.  But it is normally like $14-$20.00USD.

The best way to use this service is order all the things you need from the US and MyUS will then store them all for you and pack them all into one delivery.  They notify you by email when goods arrive with all relevant details such as cost, weight etc, and they prepare all the shipping documentation on your behalf for customs and all that.  They will mark the goods as "Gift".  I have used these guys for year and have never had an issue.  Oh and they supply you with all the tracking details for your shipments as well.

Another site that does this is HopShopGo, its for PayPal members only, but I have not used it.  Check em out:

Yeah I love it!!!  This way you can order anything you want from US retailers.  When you enter the orders make sure you use this the US address as the billing address too, that way the orders are processed with no hassles.  The service from MyUS is awesome too.  Really responsive!

Yeah but it sounds like it'd cost just as much to use them than it would to just buy it in Australia though the stuff I ordered from Bungie store was $20 and cost $30 to ship it and it was just a shirt AND it says it won't even ship till about the 20th of July so I might try the MyUS for future Bungie purchase. The two main things I wanted (Dexter S4 and Futurama) are also region locked according to another site I found. Which is lame, why region lock it and only release it in some regions.

I'll still be looking for a site that sells cheap. Might see if Entourage is region free.

Yeah the region locking is mental!

But with MyUS it really is for stuff that you just can't get easily in Australia because the cost does add up.  But I have ordered electronics gear with them and still saved heaps like on cameras, computer gear etc.  But I agree if it is like a blu-ray it does get dear.  But the other option is to order a whole bunch of stuff and consolidate it in one delivery.
