I apologize if this isn't the right area for this topic, the Xbox forums have changed drastically since i last used them and i'm finding navigation a little more difficult than i remember.
A few days ago i decided it was time to change my Gamertag to a name i use to identify myself across all other platforms, only to remember that i created a 'throw away gamertag' with that name approximately 6 years ago. Simple solution right? Delete the account, or change the gamertag on that account so i can use it on my current one. The only problem is that the last time i logged in to that account was in the same year i created it.
The profile has long since been removed from my Xbox's, and due to lack of foresight i never attached the account's email to any of the email addresses i use on a daily basis. I know the gamertag, chances are i could remember the password, but i don't know the email address attached to the account. I have searched the internet for a solution and checked microsoft/xbox support (this https://support.xbox.com/en-CA/my-account/microsoft-account/forgot-microsoft-account does not apply to me as i do not have the profile on any of my consoles and i never sent any emails using the account's address,) to no avail.
I recall there was a support email address some time ago that i have used to address account issues in the past, however i can't seem to find that information in the contact us area of the support page any longer, so i turn to the forums.
Down to the question at hand. With the information provided, is there a way i can find out the email address i used to create that old profile so that i may login and free up that gamertag for use on my current profile?
I know i could get an answer quicker via phone or chat support, but i much prefer email (or forum) if possible as my experiences via email support in the past have been far superior to the phone support.
