Please help me with this infuriating disconnecting problem.

I know i've asked this question alot already, but nobody seems to be able to give me a clear-cut solution.

After about 30 seconds - 2 minutes after signing into xbox live, i recieve a "disconnected from messenger" message followed closely by a "disconnected from xbox live" message.

I think i narrowed down the problem to my modem because whenever i lose connection and it times out, the lights on my modem will flash irregularly .  I know it's not my router because the status indicator light will still read green across the board and i'm still able to wirelessly with all my devices even though the internet has been dropped/timed-out.  This problem only happens with my 360 and none of my other devices.  The only way i know how the dropped internet connection (at least temporarily) is to unplug my modem and plug it back in and wait till a four lights come on.  But in the end, i'm still going to disconnect, so whats the point?

Are there any settings on my modem that i can change so this disconnecting problem stops?

I've tried everything.  I've called xbox support, but i for the life of me can't get pass the automated voice, but on the rare occasions i do.  I for the life of me can't understand the mans accent.  I've called my ISP (the supplied the modem), but they don't know when it comes to networking with xbox live.  I've tried plugging my 360 directly into the modem via an ethernet cable, but that didn't work either.  I forwarded every port combination on the modem everyone told to forward, but that didn't work either.  I've also tried putting my 360 into a DMZ, but that made my NAT type strict and i couldn;t connect to any of my friends and i still disconnected after a while.

Okay, so the same exact issue persisted when you were connected directly to the modem? If that's the case, then the issue is definitely with your connection. What did your ISP say when you contacted them? Did you tell them the issue persisted when connected directly to the modem? Also, when connected to the modem, do any error messages appear during the LIVE connection test?

The people over at AT&T said they're not familiar with networking with Xbox live and couldn't help me, they opperator told me to contact xbox support.  But all i got was an automated voice machine that i couldn't get past.  I tried again and i finally got an actual person, but i couldn't understand the mans accent at all and he was becoming very rude because i had to keep asking him to repeat what he said, so i just hung up.

When i test my connection when my 360 is plugged directly into the modem.  I get no error messages besides the ones in the status bar.  My NAT is even open and everything.  But when i sign into xbox live, i still disconnect  and my internet times out and i have to unplug my modem and plug it back in just to get the internet working again.

Okay, let's check the speed and strength of your connection first, then. Can you please run a connection speed test from your PC the next time you're disconnected, and post the results here?
