Not picking up Wired Connection

I have no idea what is going on, but this seems to happen quite regularly, especially after the update. As I'm typing this I cannot connect to xbox live because it's not picking up my connection (Ethernet cord). I can't even test my connection or anything because it simply isn't picking it up. There are times when I'll be playing online and then outta nowhere I'll get disconnected from xbox live and won't be able to connect back because once again, IT DOESN'T PICK UP THE ETHERNET CORD.
You have no idea how frustrating this is because there's nothing wrong with my internet, definitely nothing wrong with my router as it's pretty new, I've tried switching off everything. My xbox, my modem, my router, i've done every combination of resetting everything over 100 times and it still doesn't work. I doubt there's anything wrong with the actual ethernet cord as well as it looks perfectly fine. If it matters my xbox is about 3 years old.

The ONLY reason I can think of why I can't possibly connect to xbox live and why im constantly being disconnected is because someone is booting me offline (flooding my IP address) which is something that happens quite often to people in the Modern Warfare 2 community. But even then that doesn't make sense as to why it's not even picking my connection in the first place.

I'm sick of this, this happens about once or twice a day, at different lengths of time. Right now I haven't been able to connect to Live for about 7 hours.

Hey there, L7 Saffa. Very sorry to hear about your situation! Can you tell me the exact error message when you encounter the disconnection? In addition, have you tried using an alternate ethernet cable to see if the issue persists? Thanks! Please keep me posted.
