Keeps asking to sign in with controller

so ive had this since day one and its been great but all of a sudden it starts making me sign in using my controller..

never used to, Kinect would just see me and automatically do it. now I have to type in my live account password everytime.

my xbox settings are all set so I shouldn't have to do this....? the only thing I can think of is that I just got a new windows laptop and putting my account on there screwed with it (the problem started as soon as I got my laptop set up)

ps. sorry if this is the wrong thread

thanks in advance

-Tan

Check to see if you have a pass key. If you have one, maybe try turning it off for sign in

I am having the same issue. I bought a Windows tablet and put my Microsoft account on there and since then I have been having the same issue. My X1 always asks for my password and to sign in with a controller, even though all my security settings are set to not require a password. Please help!

This thread suggests readding your account will solve it. Is there no other way?

This just started happening to me too. I don't have my Kinect hooked up, so I always signed in with my controller. But all I had to do was select my profile. About a week ago, it starts asking me for my password every time I come on. Its really starting to be a pain.

They're right as for now. Had this same problem and it drove me freaking nuts but went ahead and deleted my account and re added it and now it signs me in no problem. Wish I woulda tried this earlier lol.

Hey there nachoz87!

When you say delete account, do you mean remove profile?  In the thread suggestion above, they are referring to removing your profile from your console.  Doing this will not delete your saved data. Your gamertag and Microsoft account will still exist online along with saved games, privacy settings, gamerscore and achievements.  All of this data will be recovered when you download your profile to your Xbox One console. You can find more information and the steps to remove your profile on our Remove an account from an Xbox One console page.

Please let us know if we can help out any further, we will be standing by.
