Hi, I'm hoping you guys can help me out.....

Okay, so this is a bit of a read but I'd love for you guys to help me out. My buddy's account got recovered by who we think is the previous owner. He was the only person that knew the windows id and password used to recover the account. We pretty much had to interrogate him but we eventually got the info we needed to get the account back.

Thing is someone (the previous owner adamantly denies taking the account) charged $133 on my buddies credit card(10,000 Microsoft points). Needless to say we spent all day on the phone with customer support and their looking into it blah blah blah. Well, when we recovered the account back to my buddy's xbox the points were gone, so my questions are:

1. Is there anyway to track what was purchased with the MS points?

2. What does the hacker get out of buying things with an account he doesn't get to keep, is there a way to transfer the points to a different account?

For starters your buddy is looking at an account ban for doing that (you're not allowed to trade/sell/buy accounts) and it's not hacking if the other person knows the WLID/Password because your buddy didn't bother to change it. In answer to your questions yes but you won't be allowed to know that info and if the previous owner has a family pack he can add his old account to that and transfer points across that way. Tell your buddy to get on to his credit card company about that charge as well.

The best your friend can do is call phone support and make a case that the account is his, but from the sound of things he wasn't the original owner. Cancel your payment methods so you can avoid further incident.
