Halo silver account as a guest?

this is a question a friend has asked

I know you can have guest playing with you but can a silver acount play as a guest if he is playing with a gold member?

You could on Halo 3. I'm not sure about the following two games though.

No you can't. You can have up to 3 guest players, but they have to be logged out and anonymous!

No online 'cheevos for cheap skate silver members!
