ESPN app freeze

Hey nit, sorry to hear about the ESPN app issue! I see from your post that you've tried a range of things--would you mind letting us know what you've tried, so that we don't recommend the same things again? At the risk of being redundant, can you please try deleting the app, clearing the cache, and then redownloading it? Also, can you try running through this screen freeze wizard?

im having the exact same problem. netfilx, youtube and other apps stream with no freezing at all but espn does the same thing the gentleman 2 post up said.

it seem like it started happening around the same time too.

i did delete the app and it worked fine for a day or so and then the freezing happened again,

  You stop it by leaving. Please consider it. I've wasted lots of my life being used this way. I'd love to have that time back to find a good guy and stop wasting time with this trash. 

When I try to launch espn it just gets stuck on the red loading screen with the two circles spinning around. I've tried restarting the app from the quick launch, my apps, and everywhere else I could think of. I restarted my xbox and it still gets stuck at the loading screen. I had to re-install the espn app yesterday because the original was somehow corrupted. The first one had a size of 43MB now it's down to 27MB. It worked fine after I installed it yesterday. Now I'm trying to watch the rose bowl and it won't even load. Just to clarify, the console doesn't freeze, I can still exit the espn app by pressing B then pressing A with Yes selected in the exit espn popup. the little version number at the bottom of the loading screen is 2.4.11320.2

The old espn app was far superior to this one even when it was working properly. I don't like videos to start playing as soon as it starts up, the layout sucks, you can't use the triggers, RB or LB to quick scroll, and the favorites list is not large enough.

My xbox 360 is a launch pro version with a 20GB hdd and no hdmi. My brother has the newest slim version and is having the same problem. I thought new versions were supposed to improve on their predecessors. This in conjunction with the new (terrible) dashboard has me questioning my gold renewal. I love paying more money for crap that I have no use for and/or doesn't work. And lets not forget the advertising that I'm paying to see. Don't you think that if I wanted to play world of warcraft I would be playing that instead of using my 360?

try testing stuff before you unleash it on the masses. I could go on with my rant but I think I proved my point.

I am having the exact same problem as justletmeplay. I'm trying to watch the Rose and Fiesta bowls, but all I get is the red intro screen for the ESPN app with the two circles. I can exit from it if I want, and netflix works fine. It's just the ESPN app. The ESPN app is what sold us on TV through the Xbox instead of Cable, and now we're seriously reconsidering.

if finally started working after about an hour of it just sitting at the loading screen. maybe too much server traffic because of the rose bowl? good game, what I saw of it anyway.

 in central texas and been down for a few hours, but the website is back enough to show an actual error page, but i agree, so happy i pay to sit around with an xbox 3660 shaped paper weight .

Hey Bark and justlet - have you tried to delete and re-download the ESPN app, along with clearing cache in between? We're not able to reproduce any issues with the ESPN app at this time.

Miss Portia - just tried this and still stuck on the loading screen

I'm trying it as well. Even reinstalled the app and cleared the cache and I'm still stuck on the loading screen.
