When trying to copy a .jpg file over to a different folder I get an error "An unexpected error is preventing the operation."

This is the error I got when trying to copy a .jpg file over to a different folder.

An unexpected error is preventing the operation. Make a note of this error code, which might be useful if you get additional help to resolve this problem:

Error 0x80070021: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.

Any help is much appreciated.

Windows apparently has a problem downloading files larger than 50Mb.  To fix this, do the following:

In a security update, Microsoft limited the size of files that may be downloaded from remote folders to 50MB. To increase this, you must change a registry setting.

  1. Download FileSizeLimit.reg
  2. Double click on FileSizeLimit.reg
  3. If necessary, allow Registry Editor to run
  4. Click the Yes button to allow the changes to be made
  5. Click OK
  6. Reboot your computer
