Windows XP Compatibility Mode missing on a fresh install of Windows 8?

So, I just did a fresh install of Windows 8 Professional (got a nasty little bug that was wasting resources left and right) and came to notice, this time around, Windows XP Compatibility Mode is now missing from my options in the list. It's required to use a program I use often and, before the reinstall, the program worked without a problem (obviously when I had it set to compatibility mode). Is there a way to bring back XP compatibility mode in Windows 8? I should add, the previous install was an upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forums.

To help you suggest more steps to resolve the issue, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

1.    Are you referring to Windows XP Compatibility Mode or Windows XP Mode?

Windows 8 does not include XP Mode.

If you are referring to Windows XP Mode you may refer:

In Windows 8 Pro, Microsoft has replaced its previous virtualization solution, Windows Virtual PC, with a more powerful and capable solution called Hyper-V. In Hyper-V can install any number of Operating System.

Check the system requirements to use Hyper-V.
