BT Control Panel Missing in Windows 8

Hi


I just got Windows 8 Pro and noticed the Bluetooth Device Control Panel is MIA.(Missing)


In Windows 7 when you paired a device you can go to Bluetooth Device Control by double or right clicking the Bluetooth device icon in Device and Printers and select "Control" once opened you can click "Connect" to use your Bluetooth device to connect to the Internet, play music from and/or to the phone, use it as a headset or speakerphone, Etc.

So how do I do this (get to "Bluetooth Device Control" so I can "Connect" to my phone) in Windows 8? Is there a 3thd party Windows 8/7 Bluetooth Device Control to use. HELP!!!

Hi Chakra Systems,

Let’s follow the steps to access Devices and Printer on Windows 8.

Step 1:

·         Press Windows Key + W Key.

·         Type Devices and Printers.

·         Select Add a device and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 2:

·         Press Windows Key + C Key.

·         Click Settings and then PC settings.

·         Click Add a device under Devices.

I know how to get to Devices and Printer and add a Bluetooth device using both Desktop and Metro UI.

what I can not find, is how to Connect/Control the phone After it has been successfully paired. 

Here is a link to a screenshot of Bluetooth Device Control in Win 7. Notice that it says Disconnected and I am given the opportunity to Connect to services provided by the device. http://sdrv.ms/SaNVD4 .

All I see in Windows 8 Metro PC settings is that my Bluetooth device is Offline, Here is a link to a screenshot of Windows 8 Metro PC Setting showing Epic 4G Touch (my phone that I am trying to Connect/Control) is Offline http://sdrv.ms/SaO4X6

So My question is still how do I get to the Bluetooth Device Control equivalent in windows 8?

Why? One may ask, How else does one connect and disconnect to different services provided by Bluetooth enabled phones?

me too.

I have an audio bluetooth earphone,
and must unpaired and paired it again and again everytime i need to use it.

And another BUMP!

 

My headset was detected and paired and the device is now listed under "Devices" but the only option offered there is to remove it again. ||-(

 

The device is on and awaits connection attempts but how do I tell Win8 to *CONNECT* to it so that I can then use it for VoIP calls?

 

This is incredible! MS again managed to make a computer literate feel like the last idiot!

It's nice to see that Microsoft have turned a blind eye to this. I hope they fix this soon as it's incredibly annoying!

Once I installed the driver for my Bluetooth Radio (from the Broadcom site), when I connect my phone I see the 'Control' UI come up for it and can then select to stream music from it or otherwise control it.

 

Also, it looks like the 'Devices' section in the control panel has "Control" in the context menu if you right-click on a Bluetooth connected device (if you can get it to stay connected).

 

I hope this helps other folks. It took me a while to get music playing from my phone to my PC speakers via Bluetooth connection.

hi chakra systems  first of all see your computer brand and then go to its official site search for bluetooth drivers and its latest softwares ok! and now pair ur device after pairing u will see a "BT' control panel 
if ur brand of computer is big u can easily get done 



if it is not worked//// Download manually any another bluetooth driver and updated softwares 

IN BROADCOM FORUMS OR SITES   !!I THINK U GET IT BEST OF LUCK     



EVEN IAM NOT SATISFIED WITH WINDOWS 8 WIRELESS SYSTEMS BUT FINALLY!!!! I GOT PROBLEMS SOLVED

I'm also in need of this, as I need to update my car stereo/receiver and need to access the hard drive, which one can do in windows 7 with the "Bluetooth Control Panel," Is there a work around for windows 8 or will there be back in windows 8.1?  I like MS, but then stuff like this seems like they just dropped the ball and weren't thinking.  Why reduce functionality in a new OS?
