How do you get Windows 8 to show hidden file extensions?

Windows 7 had the search bar under the start button, but since Windows 8 doesn't have the start button anymore, I can't find where to go to show hidden file extensions.  I appreciate any help, thanks!
When you enter "Computer" click on "View" tab > Click on "File name extensions"
