Window Media Center, Error code:-2146959355, failed to record show. Live TV does not work. Help?

Hello, 

I am having a problem with my Windows Media Center. It has worked perfectly with no problems ever since I built the computer over 6 months ago. I have not changed anything, the only thing I've recently done is setup a Homegroup on my LAN using this computer. Other than that nothing has changed. 

Everytime a show is set to record, I get the error code. I also cannot watch live TV. Please help!

Look at the event viewer.

Run Setup Again.

Open WMC > Tasks > Settings > General > Windows Media Center Setup > Run Setup Again

Does it help?

If the above doesn't help then try resetting WMC:-

Open Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > Turn Windows Features on or off > Scroll down to Media Features > Uncheck the box against Windows Media Center > Follow on screen instructions > Reboot > Again open Turn Windows Features on or off under Control Panel > Scroll down to Media Features > Check the box against Windows Media Center.

Now reconfigure WMC again.
