Windows 10 Pro Activation Error 0xc004f050

We purchased a license of Windows 10 Professional from NewEgg.com. We received the download link and product key via email. I used the Microsoft Windows media creation tool and created a USB drive to boot from and install Windows 10. During the install, I was never prompted to select what version I wanted either Home or Pro. The install just ran through and brought me to a desktop running Windows 10 Home. I have tried to "change the product key" but I get the error message "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one. (0xc004f050)"

I also tried entering a know valid volume license product key but I get the same message.

Hi Mike

Important - Take your PC offline, so it cannot access the Internet

Open the Settings App (Gear icon on your Starr Menu)

Go to Update and Security - Activation

Click 'Change Product key'

Enter this generic product key: VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T

That should upgrade your Windows 10 to the Pro version

Then Restart your PC and go back to that Activation page, click 'Change Product Key' and enter your own licence key that you purchased off NewEgg . . .
