Same type of problem on shutdown after update do build 1607, with the error at explorer.exe (0x00007FF6DFFC90E2 refered memory at 0x0000000000000030. The memory could not be written). Still wainting for a solution. Already tried SFC, reinstalled Win10 keeping apps , uninstall old apps and registry clean.

This has been reported before in this forum.   I also have the problem.   I spent hours with Microsoft support and they were not able to resolve the issue except to return me to version 1511.   They have taken some log files from my computer and will share them with the engineering people.   I was assured a fix will be forth coming for this.   Meanwhile, don't worry about it.   It's annoying but shouldn't otherwise be an operational issue.

Microsoft support said they would get back to me when they couldn't help me eliminate this message error.

They haven't, yet.   I, otherwise, like the new update and will just live with the error message.  It really doesn't do anything except perhaps delay shutdown by a few seconds.   Keep this thread active and perhaps someone at Microsoft will take notice.

I also get the same problem on 3 different PCs.  One desktop at home, a work laptop, and a work desktop.  The problem started after installing Windows 10 Version 1607 on all of them.

The strange thing is sometimes they randomly don't get the error.  Haven't figured out why yet.  And, my wife's PC does not get the error, although she has the same version of Windows 10 1607.

Also, I don't see any reference to DDE Server in any of the pop-up messages or event logs.

In another thread concerning the same shutdown/restart error message, a temporary fix was surprisingly discovered.

It seems this error message could be eliminated, if within setting options, you TURN OFF the automatic hiding of the taskbar in desktop mode.   My guess is this option is presently turned on with your 3 computers but already turned off on your wife's computer.

Please confirm if turning off the hide taskbar in desktop mode option fixes the issue with your 3 computers, and whether that option is already off on your wife's computer.   (Unfortunately, this fix doesn't permanently solve the error message, because if you turn the hide taskbar on desktop option back on, the error message will reappear.)

I believe the default is to have that option turned off, which could explain why your wife's computer and most computers don't show this error.   This problem only appeared after the anniversary 1607 "upgrade".

Thank you for that. I've been getting  the same error message when shutting down. I've turned off the automatic hiding of he taskbar as you suggested and it seems to have done the trick.

Having said that I see that Updates have been installed again this morning so I shall wait to see what surprises Microsoft have in store for me today.
