Bluetooth headset paired, but can't connect

Hi,

today, I reinstalled my PC to Windows 10 (clean install not upgrade) and everything works perfectly except bluetooth. I've got external bluetooth device connected via USB. Before I reinstalled my PC (I had windows 7), my bluetooth connected to my headset without any problem. All I needed to do was press a button and it connected.

Problem with it is, that pc find headset and it gets paired. As soon though, as I click on it in "Connect" tab it starts connecting. It does it for a while and then it says "Couldn't connect".

Could anyone please tell me what to do to connect it?

Headset works perfectly with mobile too right now, so it has to be something software related.

None of those helped. Could it be, that the bluetooth device I am using, is using bluetooth 2.0? I mean... Did windows 10 stopped supporting it or something? I just tried to connect my headphones to a laptop with windows 10, and it worked, but that laptop has its own bluetooth device so I am not sure. Headphones have bluetooth 4.0 if that helps.

Thanks for your reply, but sadly, it didn't help. I already had that option on when I opened it.

This is the problem so you can visualize it better

Device gets paired (btw I can communicate with a mobile, no problem):

Then I use Windows + A and click on Connect where I can see my devce:

I click on it:

and then after a short while it shows this:

I can't find solution or reason why it does it.

I have the same problem.  If I restart the machine with the headset switched on, it connects but if I switch on the headset after the computer starts, it can't connect to the headset.  Very annoying.

Here is what worked for me:

- Remove the Bluetooth usb dongle (I don't think this is critical, but we are going to reinstall it from scratch)

- Go to Control Panel (Right click button in the start button -> Control panel)

- Select Devices and Printers

- Right click and go to Device Manager (Admin rights)

- Click, on the menu, View -> Show hidden devices

- Uninstall (and delete driver file if prompt option is available) all devices appearing under Bluetooth categories by right clicking on them and selecting Uninstall

- Plug the USB dongle and let Windows 10 reinstall drivers.

I suppose that clicking scan for new hardware will do the same for internal chips. Hope this helps. Please, let me know if this works gor you.

BTW, Microsoft should have a better customer support than setting up a portal.

It didnt work for me, it was one of the first things I've tried. Anyway I gave up. Headphones are catching dust. Great widnows 10 beat me again. It's funny how I can't get any other help from microsoft than their copy-paste solutions.

I am also facing the same issue. Windows 10 has brought nothing but all sorts of problem and issues along with it.. mine crashes now and then and i am presented a beautiful blue screen of death all of sudden losing all of my work. This is really annoying and unfortunately there is no support or fixes..

Coming to your issue, every time i try to connect my Bluetooth headset i have to go through all the sufferings you are facing.

Suggest removing the device and pair again. It always work for the first time and next time again you have to remove the device and pair again.

Steps

1. Go to Bluetooth Settings

2. Under Manager Bluetooth Devices > you should see your paired headset

3. When you click that you should see > Remove Device option

4. Click on remove device

5. Pair your headset again and it should work

Next once you disconnected your headset, you may need to follow all the steps again at least i have to do all that every time i try to connect my headset.

Well ment mrud, but that is basically what support has been copy pasting.

Having exactly the same problem as Petr, could post the exact same screenshots.

Tried to connect both my JBL Flip 2 and BrainWavz Blu-200, and with both I'm only possible to pair. Once paired I can actually get neither of the devices connected like Petr.

Don't know if it's microsoft or the Bluetooth chip in my XPS13, but it's kind of hilarious given we're living in the year 2016.

I also gave up, will refrain from using my bluetooth devices with windows, back to my 3,5mm vsonics.
