Error 3259 - Outlook for Mac 2011, iOS 10.7.2

I have been unable to resolve this persistent error message in my Outlook email client. My email account is hosted by GoDaddy. I have no problems receiving on any platform. No problems sending via iPhone or through GoDaddy's webmail. Sending via Outlook worked until this morning, no settings were changed.

I've tried the tips from Microsoft Support ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2443563) to change the SMTP port to 587. Nothing. I tried restarting Outlook and restarting while holding down the shift key. I've shut down the whole laptop and restarted. Nothing.

I've run out of ideas.

Thanks for trying to help. I eventually was able to find this below and it worked. I wanted to post it here to share with others who undoubtedly will have the same problem at some point....

Try Different SMTP Ports

Typically, SSL and port 465 work most of the time. If you can receive email but can't send any messages in Outlook, double-check that you're using the correct port number.

Sometimes ISPs or network providers block specific ports for security reasons. If the default settings don't work, you can try some alternate ports.

To Change Your Outlook SMTP Port Settings

In Microsoft Outlook 2010, click File, and then click Account Settings.
Select the account you want to change and click Change.
Click More Settings... and select the Advanced tab.
Next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select SSL.
Next to Outgoing Server (SMTP), type 465. Click OK and click Next.
If those settings don't work,repeat steps 1-3 and select None for Use the following type of encrypted connection. Try these other ports for Outgoing server (SMTP): 80, 3535, or 25.
Click OK and Next to see if the other ports will work.
