Make reviewer comments anonymous in already created document, Word 365 for Mac

I found this solution in the answer forum:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2008-macword/make-reviewer-names-anonymous/f826e559-e0a5-46c4-b226-1670565900ee

However, this is for an older version of Word.  When I use the new Word 365 on Mac the info is in Preferences->User Information, and it seems to default to "Microsoft Office User".  Ok, fine.

My problem is that I have a Word document with thousands of comments already inserted, and they all have my real name on them.  I want to CHANGE all comments with my name to anonymous.  Again, these comments are already in the document.

Can this be done?

Thank you.

Answer

Ok, I found it!

The relevant control box is as follows:

In the tabs at top of screen (i.e. "Home", etc.), click "Review -> Protect -> Protect Document".  At the bottom you will see:

"Remove personal information from this file on save"

Check this box, click "OK".  Then save the document and reopen it.  Your comments will now be "Author" instead, and your PII will be gone.

Would be nice to change "Author" to something else though...
