Error: "WindowsUpdate_8024200D" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

I have Windows 7 professional 64 bit . I cannot install any of the 6 updates still on the list in Windows Update. The error code is "WindowsUpdate_8024200D" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"

I have tried installing one by one, i tried restarting many times, i even ran the auto "Fix It" program Microsoft has. (Funny it says everything is working fine and i see windows update in other window saying "Failed to update") Obviously Microsoft's Auto Fix IT is junk and cannot even tell when there is a problem.

Anyway's I need windows update to work correctly again. Any idea's?

If you receive Windows Update error 8024200d, it can mean that an update did not finish downloading or installing. The System Update Readiness Tool for Windows can correct some conditions that cause this error. To use the tool, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Knowledge Base article webpage. In the Information for advanced users section, find the Windows edition and system type of your computer, and then click the link to download the System Update Readiness Tool. To find your edition of Windows, see View your computer information.

  2. Run Windows Update again.

    Note

    • Typically, the scan takes 15 minutes or less, but it can take longer on some computers. The Windows Update progress bar is not updated during the scan, and progress can appear to stop at 60% complete. This behavior is expected. The scan is still running and you shouldn't cancel the update.
