Hey dude
Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with being able to configure your Mic monitoring.
When you have a compatible headset connected to a controller, you will see a new setting appear in the Xbox guide under the System tab. This new settings will read Audio and it will have an icon of a speakers on the left side of it.
Once in this setting, you should see three different options:
- Headset volume, which allows you to configure how much output your headset or earphones are outputting.
- Headset chat mixer, can be used to configure the balance of in-game audio to Party chat audio.
- Mic monitoring, this provides you with the ability to configure if you can hear your voice though the headset when you speak into the microphone.
Again, this option will only appear if your headset does not allow you to configure these options physically [such as via the cable your headset has or an adapter that you must use to connect your headset onto your controller].
If you are experiencing difficulties with being able to use party chat, we recommend using the article that covers Troubleshoot audio problems in parties on Xbox.
I hope this is of some use to you.

If the options provided by XBF Eladio are not popping up for you, then your headset would have the configuration on the headset itself or through a computer software program.
What headset do you have? Model and brand? That way we can have a better idea of why the option is not there and so we can direct you to better support channels to configure your headset if needed.

Mic monitoring on the console Guide should be an option with a Razer Kraken headset plugged into a working headset jack.
The Afterglow wired controller might be the problem. Do you see a headset icon in upper right part of the screen when you press the Xbox Guide button with the headset plugged in? If you don't then that may be why the console Guide isn't showing you the microphone options when you move over to the System tab.
Do you have another controller that you can try (maybe borrow one from a friend temporarily)?
Good luck!

Hello Sumrandomdude,
Thanks for keeping us updated. As stated above, it could very well be the third party controller. You may want to visit the manufacturers website to see if there are an updates available for that controller. Aside from that, we recommend testing out your
headset with an official Xbox one controller if you have one available. Let us know the results!
