Question about updating Xbox 360 using CD/DVD.

I cant find my Network adapter for my 360. I recently got mine fixed. The last update on it was November 2009 ( Version: 2.0.8966.0). Since there have been a year and a half of updates since then, Will the most recent on the site to download update everything to the latest version?
