My girlfriend nagging...

Too bad it doesn't work for too many players or you would be correct, whether your girlfriend loved it or not.

Mrs Azrael had her own XBox before she became Mrs Azrael.

Though it wasn't a pre-requisite I would definately say it's a bit of a bonus.

Of all the girlfriends I have had over the years only 1 was a gamer. It was pretty cool. My wife doesn't hate games, but she literally has zero interest in them. The only game I got here to play was American Idol.

Just last night I was playing Sleeping Dogs while she was in the room. All she said was, "why do they curse so much, don't little kids play these games?". LOL that was the most reaction I have gotten from her in regards to games. She does buy them for me though.

Depends on your partner/wife/whatever.  Mine doesn't and hasn't minded me playing games all these years as it is my hobby and what I enjoy doing.  As for my partner and playing games, she is not too interested, but will play something if it appeals to her.

Mrs Azrael grew up with a Sega Megadrive.  She had 3 brothers and they were always competative about everything especially gaming.

One day their high scores on "Duckhunt" were absolutely eclipsed by some previously unknown player.

So far, my "friend" actually enjoys watching me play games since she plays Minecraft too.

I'm a gamer with a nongamer husband, and while he does enjoy occasionally watching me cause chaos in games like Just Cause 2 and Saints Row 2, the game he really seems to watch the most intently and the only one where he comments on how fun it looks is Borderlands (plus 2, which I play on the PS3). The first IS very newcomer-friendly, though I don't think 2 is (the W4R-D3N battle alone was far tougher than anything I faced in the first, though granted I haven't fought Craw yet).

When I've lived with my GF I normally just play when they're out or at night.

Never tried to get them into gaming, besides I don't like Borderlands so I guess I would have to try something else.

Here's what I did. An ex-girlfriend of mine said, "me or the games!". Well... rocket science shows the front door.
