Host & Lag

being host is not good..you will get worse lag than people with inferior connections because of the dedicated servers etc..i usually win most of my games on free for all..but most of the time when im host i dont win or when someone comes on with a 2 bar connection he just annihilates everyone and its so annoying..they seem to move 3x faster than anyone else..i lost all the time until i did the following to help compensate for it...unless you havent done it..put your console onto auto-aim and make sure black ops target assist is on..i was ready to sell this game until i did that.

dont spread your ignorant shi%t  your a douchey british tool. you will always have bad lag.

It stinks being host, however I end up winning more games because I don't dashboard and therefore all games that I host make it to the end.

This game doesn't have dedi servers though its all P2P

@gameshoes what do you mean by you dont dashboard? @orion796 its just ways to improve connection im after im 13th prestige and i always do well evan with the lag, but i know i could do so much better on this game if i didnt have connection problems

Also i take it no one knows how to find out if you are the host or not?

It's easy to figure out who's the host.

Just check for who has the 4 bar connection at the start of the game before everybody is loaded.

Goodin82, in this day and age 8 mbps is not a good connection for gaming and I'm sure dropping to 6 mbps doesn't help none either.  While I have played at those speeds years ago and did just fine, with everybody now receiving much higher speeds from their providers, you are now competing with this.

I remember playing Quake and such online using dial up; everybody was on a pretty level playing field.  Then cable was introduced and those of us on dial up were getting crushed.  This I believe is the case for you perhaps.  

I currently am playing at 50 mbps though I did trial the 100 mbps but did not notice anything too different for gaming just for downloads and such.  At 50 mbps I can still download and upload things and my daughter can stream tv and movies without effecting me.  I would however notice it from time to time on 15 mbps when I had this type of speed.

My provider has 1, 7.5, 25, 50 and 100 mbps but recommends if gaming online to get at least the 25 mbps.  Again with more and more people moving to higher speeds, this may affect you.

@decu68 thanks, until they introduce fibre optic broadband in my area i will just have to make do, i have upto 20mb unlimited broadband from sky but 8mb is the best speed i can get in my area according to them, its not evan like i live in the middle of the country, i live in manchester haha, terrible
