CoD World at War - Unplayable due to modders, hackers, and cheaters

You need to report these people otherwise the XBLPET can not do their job, which is to ban these members from Live. This is where MS's responsibility ends concerning this game OP.

It is up to Treyarch and Activision to patch their games and prevent modders from having the ability to Mod their titles. So you would be best to address your concerns to them.

Unfortunately this has been going on so long that the only conclusion is that either Activision/Treyarch can not fix these issues, or they simply will not. Either way nothing seems to be done about it.

MS XBLPET can and do ban modders on a daily basis but unfortunately there are always more, Treyarch finally seemed to have made a game that is not modded in the form of Blops. If you like CoD I would recommend playing that because there is no modding at all going on in the game.

Apart from that all you can do is back out of modded lobbies by dash-boarding (This will prevent these people from adjusting your stats and possibly preventing you from accessing online functions for the game in the process). And carry on reporting these people so MS can ban them from the service.

You can also set people as avoided players once you have reported them, then at least you will not be dropped into a game with them again in the future.

My concerns mostly lie with the money I've sunk into this game. Why would a game with such problems be sold in stores? Because the developer and publisher are greedy bastards?

This game was also claimed to be unhackable back at launch. I'm not interested in playing another game, why not just suggest I go outside and ride a bike? Black Ops will surely fall victim to hackers once attention is moved to the next title.

In the end, it's lack of support for older titles in favor of getting consumers to purchase the next title, that pisses me off.

Hey I'm not disagreeing with you, thanks to all the idiots who think modding games does not affect anyone else I ended up selling WaW (And I purchased both map packs which are now completely useless and a waste of my money).

WaW was easily my favourite CoD game so believe me I get it.

But I came to the realisation they were not going to fix it and I cant be bothered playing broken games no matter how much I like them. Black Ops wont be modded because they changed the code for that title.

That is why Cod4, 5, 6 are all broken (the code was easy to modify) so the same thing will not happen to Blops or it would have already. Its been out long enough that if it could be done it would have.

I am completly not impressed, i love this game and it just happened about 10 mins ago and I started to research this..... serisouly this is ridiclious and I will def be filing a complaint!

This is why the whole DLC system is a con. It should be refundable if there are issues like this and customers are not happy with it.

I don't think consumer law covers this does it? Games companies are getting away with too much, and now having play passes makes it an even bigger con.

i just try to play around the flying fire idoits considering i just bought a map pack and its downloading as i wrtie this lol :) worst comes to worst hack back and then u can kill them im sure jk but you guys are right abd yes play passes suck considering im a gameflyer and aint gonna spend 10$ on a pass for a couple days lol

When i played online i just changed search settings to local first then i found matches easy and no hackers well maybe 1 every 2 matches

Frankly, the ONLY reason that I kept this game is to play private matches with my friends(mostly zombies).  In that sense, it is still an alright game.  hehe  If not for the hackers then we would still be dealing with campers and other undesirables too.

Having recently returned to my Xbox to play WaW online I have had the same problems, so many people modding and ruining the game for others - it's ridiculous the amount of people who want to cheat and find enjoyment in that. What skill is left if you are in 'God Mode' ?!

I report them all, although tedious and time consuming, in the long run hopefully these people will be banned.

Very frustrated by it all, but the community of fair players should continue to do what we can.

Not going to hold my breath they are actually doing anything ^^
