Can't play Kinect games offline

Hi, here is my problem: Usually my xbox is in my room, and it is connected to xbox live, but when I want to play with my kinect, I have to plug my xbox in another room where xbox live connection is impossible.

So, when I start a game (Kinectimals, Disneyland) They ask me if I want to log in my profile, I log in, and then they say xboxlive conection is impossible, and they give me 2 choices: Continue to play, without my profile, so without saving. or testing my connection (it doesn't help in any way).

As you can see, I cant play Kinect games (with saving).  Please help me, I contacted Xbox and they told me to post on their forums...

Greetings, toad4luigi! Thank you for bringing this question to us. I see that you are trying to play Kinectimals and Disneyland Adventures while disconnected from Xbox LIVE. For clarification, have you tried playing any other Kinect titles besides Kinectimals and Disneyland Adventure, and if so, do you experience the same issue upon attempting to sign-in?

Yes, I played Just Dance 3 and it worked, and the game that comes with the Kinect works too (I don't know it's name).

Do you know what's going on?

Thank you for the extra clarification. We're currently investigating the issue. When you mentioned that you need to move your Xbox 360 console into a room where a connection to LIVE was impossible, does that specifically mean that your console is disconnected from the internet? In other words, wifi is disabled and no ethernet cable is connected? Can you also clarify whether your profile is LIVE enabled or if you are using an offline profile? I know these are a lot of questions. Thank you again for taking the time to respond!

I use a Xboxlive account, but I also tried with an offline account and it didn't work.

And no ethernet cable is connected to my xbox when it's in (let's call it the "Kinect room") the Kinect room, since my cable is not long enough to reach the xbox.

I appreciate your help by the way, thanks.

Mr Darcy - I have this same issue with Kinectimals and Fruit Ninja. The only space big enough to use the Kinect sensor in my home does not have internet access and therefore obviously cannot access Xbox Live. These problems seem to have cropped up following a recentish  update (February, I think). As a result these games are now worthless to me! Please help.

I'll need an answer too. We just received a repaired and updated console back from Microsoft, and now I cannot login to play Disneyland Adventures offline. I can see the autosave from previously playing the game on my hard drive, but when I try to login, it requires me to connect to Xbox Live in order to play, otherwise I have to disable saving, which as I'm sure you know makes the entire game useless.

I have attempted to change the Cloud settings, and they are currently set to disabled. That did not fix the problem.

We are not interested in connecting to Xbox Live at this time. We have no internet access - wireless or cable, and had NO problems playing this game before sending the console in to be repaired. Also, the game, when bought, did not require the extra expense of Xbox Live.

I also tried Frontier's half-assed suggestion to re-set your Kinect profile and that will fix it. Yeah, right. Nice try. (forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php)

Anyhow, they are blaming you all for the update and the inability to login offline, just fyi.

I'll be thrilled to be able to play the game with my son again for whom we bought the kinect and this game. If we don't get a decent solution soon, the kinect will be sold, the game will be sold, and we'll be done. Don't make someone sign up to pay extra when the game didn't advertise Xbox Live as a requirement. And don't create updates with such terrible bugs.

Please get this fixed.

Just fyi - managed to get a temp fix by resetting the biometrics using kinect id. So we can play again.

Really disappointed that Microsoft and Xbox haven't made some sort of public acknowledgment of the problem and offered a solution. Not great customer service.
