Burnout 3 - Downloaded - Does not work

Hi, as the game is an original Xbox game there are a few things to clarify.-

Do you have a hard drive on the console and is that hard drive a genuine Microsoft certified hard drive. Do not be fooled by looking into the storage section on your console and the drive showing Microsoft next to it, that does not mean the drive is official.

Third party hard drives from places such as Ebay, Amazon private sellers do not have the required files etc to play original Xbox games.

I have a 320 GB HD and it was purchased online, but it came in a Microsoft box with a little seal like symbol that said certified Microsoft or something like that.  However, while I was on vacation I was having trouble with the internet and accidentally reformatted the drive which was really frustrating because I couldn't re download them till I got back home.

Is it possible the reformat process deleted any files that were not re-added when I updated the xbox later?  If so how do I get them back now?

Formatting the drive on the console shouldn't have caused you to lose the ability to play originals, did you try the steps in the following link at all?

I, too, have the downloaded version of Burnout 3: Takedown, and what by all appearances is definitely an official Microsoft hard drive. This game is not working for me on my XBox 360 S. I have tried all the steps listed on each of these pages, including scorched earth formatting everything on the 360, re-setting up my Live account, and JUST having that account, latest update, and Burnout 3 on my storage. It's not working!
