Usb !

I have plugged my Usb device into my Xbox after formatting it on my computer but i then configure it on my xbox but it then comes up saying device is configured but has not met recomendations and says that i might not be able to view thing or save etc..... How do i stop it doing this as i have put things on the Usb my old gamertag but it says on the usb that there is nothing on there because of this problem and suggestions ??? :(
