Turtle Beach x12 XBOX 360 set up

Hi so I have been using my Turtleel Beach x12's for my computer for a while now and I just got an xbox off my friend. I bought a ear force audio adapter and conne ted it to my HD iiyama monitor, however my mic won't work. What can I do to get it working and don't say get a cheaper headset -_-

You should have with the headset a separate jack lead that connects from the in-line volume control to the xbox controller.

Chat will only work with the headset connected to the controller!
