Recovering Gamertag Gone Wrong.

So I sold my xbox a while back and decided to get another one for college. When I went to recover my gamertag i used the same information as last time, but it didn't recover the right account. It looks like it made a new one. I know the email address was correct because I have emails of the old account on it. I don't understand what went wrong... Anyone?

You have the WLID incorrect.

you have a contact email address on your acount and a WLID.

the contact email address is where you are getting the emails to and the WLID is something different.

You can contact support and go through some questions with one of the agents and they can give you the WLID so you can recover your gamertag.

or try using an old email address that you might have to recover.
