I cant connect to live whats happening

ok whenever i try to connect to live via my xbox it ays IP failed, i have checked the error report and the z value is 0000-0000 so i know i am not banned. anyone know whats the matter

Your Xbox gets its IP address from your router, usually. If your Xbox has a bad connection between it and your router, then it can not obtain an IP address. You should check to see if any Ethernet cables are plugged in properly, or the cables may be bad and need to be exchanged.

If your using wireless to connect your Xbox to your router you should check your wireless settings and make sure everything is ok there.
