A few days ago I was playing black ops and got disconnected mid-game for an unknown reason. I went to xbox.com/networkhelp and tried all of the options to no avail. I also tried all of the options when I click more information after testing my connection. I still can't connect and after fiddling for hours something happened to my router where my laptop wouldn't connect. Today we got a new wireless router and I STILL can't connect to live. When I try to test it, its the first part (xbox 360 to network) that fails. It tells me that it can't obtain an IP address from my router or modem.
What Country/State/Province do you live in? United States, MI.
Modem brand & model number: Don't know, and don't know how to check.
Router brand & model number: Netgear, don't know how to check number.
Network Connection Type: Wireless/Wired Wired (ethernet cable to my laptop)

Is NAT Type Open? Most likely, I have had troubles in the past with this though and connecting to games..

After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" and click on "More info", what is the exact message shown on screen?
