Getting Kicked from Xbox

Hello my name is Max there is this gamer named [MOD REMOVED- NO NAME/SHAME] and [MOD REMOVED- NO NAME/SHAME] that keep kicking me offline because they can hack/mod and just 10 mins ago he turned off my Internet for 30 mins. They are doing this to multiple people on Xbox Live. And you can even look and see in my messages and it says he'll kick me offline and he did. My gamertag is aDenver. And I would like to see if you can ban them and I just got banned permently on my second account and I did little stuff to get banned but I don't think they deserve the Xbox Live. [MOD REMOVED] Thank You, aDenver

Please be aware not to call out member's GTs and it is unnecessary to provide your personal contact info. Also, if you would like action to be taken against them, then you will need to file a complaint on Xbox Live in order for it to be investigated by the Enforcement Team.

Greetings aDenver!

I'm sorry but the information you got from Xbox LIVE support is wrong. The only ting we can help you with is to let you know what you should do if you've been attacked and what you can do to stop this attack.

Please read: Distributed Denial of Service attack (DDoS): Frequently Asked Questions. Here you'll find all the necessary steps to take when under the influence of an DDoS attack and how to resolve it.

Thanks!

The impossible just takes a little longer

Hi aDenver, in order for Xbox Moderation to take action against these members you will have to file a report using the console. Find the gamertag, and click File Complaint. Answer the few short questions, and Xbox will take the appropriate actions against the members.

The only way to report this to the Enforcement Team is to report the bad conduct from your console. None of us here can contact the Enforcement Team, they only take reports filed from the console as they don't accept hearsay.  Here's how:

1. Press the Guide button and select Friends.

2. Scroll right to Players, then select the user.

3. From a game lobby: Select the cyberharasser.

4. Select View Profile.

5. Select File Complaint.

6. Review the information here and when you’re ready, select File Complaint again.

7. Select one of the following reasons for filing the complaint: Text Message, Voice Message, Voice Chat In-Game Voice, or others that may apply to the issue.

Howeve, if this is a Denial of Service attack, Microsoft's options are very limited as the hacker is using non-Microsoft tools over the open internet. Even if they dropped the BanHammer on the hacker, the cyberharassment would continue. Therefore, I do also suggest you contact your ISP, get the IP logs showing where the attack comes from, and report it to law enforcement, as this is a federal, state and provincial felony.

That being said, these steps will likely change your IP address so the cyberharasser won't be able to harass you:

1) turn off the Xbox and unplug the power supply cord from the back of the Xbox then

2) unplug power from the router (Some folks have a combination modem-router AKA 'gateway' or only use a modem with no router. If either, skip steps 3 & 6).

3) unplug power from the modem.

4) Wait at least 5 minutes then replug the modem/gateway power.

5) Wait 'til the light on the front of the modem/gateway which says BROADBAND, ONLINE, READY, CABLE or DSL is on solid (not flashing), then plug in the router. If you have a gateway instead of a modem and router or a modem with no router, then when that light says it's ready, skip to step 7.

6) Wait until the WiFi light on the router is on; you may not use WiFi, but it's still a good indicator your router is finished booting up.

7) Plug in and turn on the Xbox.
