windows 8 activation after clean install does not accept product key

Dear all,

I had a dual boot system with windows 8 and Ubuntu and tried to remove the Ubuntu but the computer did not boot, I was trying to fix the mbr and got it wrong.

I then did a clean install of windows 8 but it will not accept my product key. Before the clean install I formatted the hard disk.

Is there anything I can do or do I need to purchase another windows 8 pro?

Unless you bought the System Builder DVD version of Win 8, you bought an upgrade.

You need to install the OS you upgraded from and then re-upgrade using your Win 8 installer and PK.
